Insync is an unfortunately named, but incredibly capable cloud storage platform that just delivered the first credible slap in the face to Dropbox. By performing real-time syncing from your file system to Google Docs for free, it blends the best of all worlds. Now you can edit that tricky spreadsheet in Excel, modify your clever formatting in Word, and then access them all later on Google Docs. Sharing is a breeze (it uses the Google Docs system) and you can even use it as a traditional backup to store music, movies, and photos.

US based providers need to adopt this now. O2 launched an iPhone rental program that adds a $15-25 premium to your monthly bill for 12 months, and then O2 gets the phone back. In general, last generation iPhones generally go for ~$200-300 on secondary markets.
It’s a win for the providers because they end up making an extra $100+ in deferred revenue on each iPhone transaction and it’s a win for consumers because they get to upgrade more regularly. Done. Next problem? (source)

This just makes me feel sad for Firefox. I remember when I started using it instead of IE; it was so refreshingly fast. It felt like it opened up a whole range of new possibilities for the web after years of Microsoft stagnation.
Then Firefox too became bloated. And it slowed down. I started using Mozilla’s Camino (their Mac-focused browser) as a result. Then Chrome arrived, in a similar way to the way that Firefox had. It was refreshingly fast…
I know what you mean, but recently, I switched back to Firefox and haven’t looked at Chrome since. It’s more stable on Mac, opens just as fast, has all my old (beloved) extensions, and is less resource-hungry.
Give it another chance. I’d love to know what you think about it today.

Hey Friends, I know times are tough, but please consider funding this Kickstarter project. Andy Miller and Tess Bakke have designed a smartphone to microscope adapter. As access to cellphone technology has skyrocketed, there has not been a corresponding increase in medical technology in developing worlds. The Skylight allows anyone with a microscope to share what their seeing on a microscope with anyone in the world. Imagine the possibilities! A doctor could email a picture or share in real time via video chat. Faster diagnoses means saving lives. They also plan to donate one out of every 5 once the skylights are produced. Check it out here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/190596902/the-skylight-a-smartphone-to-microscope-adapter
