US telecoms are putting Android customers at a disadvantage by loading their phones with crapware a la Dell/Windows/etc. These marketing schemes confuse buyers and nickle-and-dime them for existing functionality such as tethering or GPS functionality. In the end, this just preserves old business models rather than empower consumers with the next great wave of technical innovation.
